  1. bluur pip says:

Um do you have to cut your pattern because I have never cut one of my patterns it is easy enugh to simply put the pattern ofer the top of a piece od trace paper and draw right thru the pattern onto the trace paper with a sharpie this helps with kids patterns when they grow out of the size you cut off and boy o boy the price of patterns adds up after awhile

  2. very informative! I'm a beginner, so this really helped me to understand this McCALL pattern I purchased. Does anyone know where I can find a video of someone sewing a pattern from beginning to end? That would just be wonderful. I've been looking and I can't seem to find one. I think watching someone sew a pattern from start to finish would be very useful to beginners.

  3. Matyme says:

Mina399 I'm a beginner too! And I have been looking for a video like how you mentioned. I hope someone has a video like that. I am eager to start!

  8. Thanatalia says:

Great video, thank you. But hey! As a newbie, I have no idea how to safely iron that pattern! Can it handle the heat!? Do I need to put something between it and the iron?

  9. Start with a low heat setting, no steam, nothing in between. If it doesn't relax the wrinkles, turn the heat up a bit until it does. Yep, they can handle it!

  10. Dan Albert says:

About the notches…do you just mark them with chalk or do you actually cut them out?

  17. Ruth Parsons says:

😀 thank you, it makes more sense now!!

  18. Makes so much more sense now! Just a quick question, should you cut the notches and dots into your fabric or is it better to draw them on with some sort of marker or chalk?

  19. cezarskeeper says:

    Yes, finally someone explained!

  20. I don't think the companies that make these patterns could have explained it any better, thank you so much! I have to alter some the patterns very slightly for a cosplay costume, but I'm very confident about using them now. Thank you for making this!
