This is a quick and easy trick for tying a knot in your thread. You’re less likely to have your thread go all the way through your fabric when starting your hand stitching.

You can see how it’s done left handed and right handed! I’ve been practising for you.

    Thank you for posting this! This method is so much more reliable for me than rolling the thread between my forefinger and thumb. I used to end up with these ugly, tangled looking knots that I sewed with anyway because, hey, at least the thread was anchored. With this tutorial, I was finally able to make a normal, proper looking knot.

    so somehow a magical giant tear appeared in a towel and no one wanted to admit to it but this helped me save the towel my sewing isn't the greatest so I guess this towel incident was a win win in the end! thanks!
