Very good video! I've seen others say we need to buy an iron ESPECIALLY for pressing, ironing in sewing. Unfortunately, those irons are very expensive and something that's not an option for me right now financially. I have a separate iron I use for pressing sewing related items (from pressing my regular clothes).

Is that OK? Thanks so much!

  7. Well, I'm never one that says you must follow this rule or that rule– or don't even bother sewing. Sewing can be an expensive hobby and sometimes you can't buy all the luxury items at one time. I totally understand where you're coming from. I say as long as your iron has an adjustable heat setting, you should be fine. Maybe get a pressing cloth (or use an old pillowcase) to protect your fabric if you need it.

Sorry for the delay. Thanks so much for taking the time to answer my question. I LOVE your videos. You all are very generous.I have a few old pillowcases so thanks so much for that suggestion as well 🙂

I like to take my fabric scissors and write "fabric only!" on them in permanent marker. That way, everyone else in my house knows NOT to use them if they're looking for scissors for whatever cutting needs they have (especially if it involves paper).
