    The biggest mistake a beginning sewer can make is watching the needle. By keeping your seam allowance consistent ensures a straight stitch even on a curve. In the real world , we have standard seam allowance- 5/8 " and not lines as demonstrated. You can mark your machine with tape. Also, one needle shouldn't be used to sew everything. If working w/various fabrics then will need various needles.

    I didn't know… a lot of this. lol I winged it, and then I learned it. he's a natural tho! even tho she was there next to him, his brain couldn't get the hand and eye coordination.. make the mistakes and do it often and accept it as "I'm so much better now then before" 。^‿^。
